INTRODUCTION

Healthy FoalMerrick's Grow-N-Glow Foal Milk Replacer is formulated to replace, or supplement, mare's milk. The period between birth and 8 weeks of age is critical in the life of any animal. Feeding Grow-N-Glow will help your foal grow and develop on schedule into a healthy adult horse.Grow-N-Glow has the balanced combination of protein, energy sources, vitamins, minerals and other nutrients needed for your foal to grow at its maximum potential. Its nutrient levels are formulated to meet a foal's need for milk protein, lactose, fat, vitamins and minerals. Grow-N-Glow is fortified with fructooligosaccharides and direct-fed microbials. Fructooligosaccharides are special sugars which work along with direct fed microbials to help promote a strong balance of beneficial bacteria in the foal's digestive tract. These sugars can be utilized by beneficial bacteria as an energy source for growth and proliferation, but remain unavailable to many pathogenic, or disease causing microorganisms.

Grow-N-Glow is recommended when the mare doesn't produce adequate milk or rejects the foal. It is also ideal for orphan foals. Some horse breeders use Grow-N-Glow as a supplement to mare's milk, allowing the mare to rebuild her body and to re-breed in a shorter time interval. This supplemental milk feeding also allows greater growth of the foal.

Specifically formulated with highly digestible ingredients, its natural good taste stimulates appetite and promotes steady growth, proper muscle and bone development and a glossy hair coat. The unique agglomerated formula mixes instantly and stays in solution.

FOR BEST RESULTS

  1. Follow all label feeding instructions carefully and feed at regular hours each day. During the first week, frequent small feedings are best. For young weak foals, smaller and more frequent feeding are suggested. Adjustments may be needed for individual foals and for large breed foals.
  2. As a general guideline, foals at 2 to 4 weeks of age should receive about 20% to 25% of their body weight in liquid milk replacer and about 1% of their body weight in dry feed per day.
  3. Milk replacer should be gradually reduced starting at 5 weeks of age and dry feed intake should be gradually increased.
  4. Foals can be weaned prior to 8 weeks of age if they are eating at least 2 to 4 lbs of grain ration per day for 3 consecutive days.
