FORAGE FIRST Alfalfa Hay Cubes are consistent, high-quality forage sources that can be used to supply all or a portion of the forage needs for all classes of horses. They are cubed, which produces a higher leaf-to-stem ratio, more concentrated nutrients, and less waste than most long-stemmed hays.
FORAGE FIRST Alfalfa Hay Cubes are excellent choices for horses with dental or respiratory problems or for travel.
FORAGE FIRST Alfalfa Hay Cube Advantages
-
Reduce feed waste – Very little waste occurs with cubes as compared to the 20% or more wastage with long-stemmed hays.
-
Consistent and maximum nutrient quality – Cubes are subjected to rigid quality control standards and must meet product nutrient guarantees.
-
Avoid blister beetles – Made from forages grown in northern areas of the US and Canadian meadows far north of the known habitats of blister beetles.
-
Less storage space – Cubed forages require less storage space compared to baled hay.
-
Low moisture content – More value and longer storage time.

Feeding Instructions
FORAGE FIRST Alfalfa Cubes may be fed as the only source of forage or mixed with other forages and feeds. Feed at the rate of 1-3% of body weight per day depending on age, weight, workload, and reproductive status of the horse, and amount of concentrate fed. Due to less waste, cubes can be fed at the rate of 80-90% of the amount of long-stemmed hay replaced.
Storage Instructions: Store cubes in a cool, dry place. Avoid contact with moist surfaces and sunlight.
